Lambeosaurus was a large, herbivorous dinosaur that lived about 75 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period in North America.

It's known for its distinctive hollow cranial crest, which varied in shape between different species.  

Key Characteristics:

  • Diet: Herbivorous (plant-eater)  
  • Size: Around 30-49 feet long and 7 feet tall
  • Weight: Estimated between 2,200 and 6,600 pounds
  • Locomotion: Bipedal (walked on two legs) but could also move quadrupedally  
  • Most notable feature: Hollow cranial crest, possibly used for display, sound amplification, or respiration  

Interesting Facts:

  • The shape of the Lambeosaurus' crest might have helped differentiate between different species or sexes.  
  • They lived in herds and probably migrated in search of food.
